Each ceremony at the chapel has been beautiful and every reception unique. With couples choosing reception venues like Soho House, The Hackney, The Groucho, and Fredericks.
Laura & Will, Felicity & Andrew, Nikaela & Kevin, Helen & Chris, & all my couples, thank you.
I loved shooting your wedding days. As a recommended photographer for Fitzrovia wedding chapel I really am excited for many more.
One of my favourite London wedding venues to photograph, magic truly lives here! A stunning chapel built in 1891 as the Middlesex hospital chapel. The interior is covered in gold and mosaic tiles. The backdrop is truly breath taking.
When couples see this venue, it's an instant yes. Its sooooo stunning its hard to put into words it is a must see. Contact Freya to ask for a visit and she or the team will show you round. The light is magical here, with its gold interior the chapel remains at any time bathed in golden light
Shooting Fitzrovia Chapel is, let's put this tight out there, a challenge. So being informed of this before going into it is important to know. Even in summer the light in here is incredibly low. Yes, you can shoot flash, but the mood of the chapel and the intimate ceremony can easily be spoiled by flash. The flash will light up the whole ceremony area distracting from the candlelit feel of the environment. In short, I prefer to shoot low light photography for all of the ceremony If possible then save flash for group shots and couple shots after the wedding ceremony. This way we get the best of both. A serious lens is needed for this, a prime lens that lets in a LOT of ight. Praise be the 85mm 1.2 prime, all hail and god bless thee......
Making up the whole story of your day is my mission whilst protecting the first priority of you enjoying your ceremony here. Fitzrovia Chapel has a wonderful system to ensure you get some time mingling with wedding guests whilst I also get grab those heirloom memories of your day . Bookings usually fall into 3 hour or 2.5 hour bookings. In this time guests will arrive, the groom will see the registrar, then the bride in the back room (via the back entrance to avoid guests). The wedding ceremony will take place. Then we will usually have around one hour for drinks and photos. Now after you have walked down the aisle there's no way I want to rip you away from all those loved ones who want to give you that 'I love you' bear hug. So we usually wait around 15 minutes then shoot your couple portraits in the ceremony area. Followed by groups. Then I return you to your onlooking guests for some last drinks and hugs.
